President Trump Blesses Airman Kolfage’s Campaign To Build The Border Wall

Published

on

Airman Kolfage visited Washington D.C. twice over the last several weeks, and there were whispers that President Trump was aware of his campaign to privately fund the wall. Kolfage was in talks with elected officials, and high-level political powerbrokers during his visits to the nation’s capital, and many were wondering if the president would say something. And now he has.

In the second week of January, Airman Kolfage announced the team that would help him get the wall built. Kris Kobach, the former Secretary of State of Kansas, is one of many who sits on Kolfage’s “We Build the Wall Inc.” advisory board. Kobach, who may be running for Senate in 2020, spoke with the New York Times this week and told them of a phone call he had with President Trump on Wednesday.

According to Kobach, President Trump is on board with Airman Kolfage’s campaign to build the border wall on private land with privately raised funds.

The New York Times reports:

“Mr. Kobach, a hard-line ally of President Trump known for his strident stand on immigration, has long advocated a tough border policy.

He is currently an advisory board member of “We Build the Wall Inc.” a nonprofit group that has collected more than $12 million toward the effort. Mr. Kobach says the group has obtained the presidential seal of approval for the private initiative.

President Trump gave the undertaking his “blessing” in a telephone conversation Wednesday night, according to Mr. Kobach.

Mr. Kobach, 52, says the group will begin construction soon on its first section of the wall on donated property, likely in Texas, and that the work can be completed cheaply and efficiently by the private sector.

The private wall idea is an outgrowth of a plan started in December as a GoFundMe campaign by Brian Kolfage, a disabled Air Force veteran living in Florida who says the impetus for his project was mounting public frustration over the government’s failure to reach an agreement on border protection.”

Airman Kolfage & his team will be building the wall on private property and President Trump is backing them up. Others on Kolfage’s “We Build the Wall Inc” advisory board include: Sheriff David A. Clarke, Brigadier General Dr. Robert S. Spalding III, former Congressman Tom Tancredo, Blackwater founder, Erik Prince, Industrialist John Daniel Moran, Jr., Angel Dad Steve Ronnebeck, and many other high-level people who will later be announced.

Kolfage & members of his advisory committee are heading to Texas to consult with landowners & border officials to assess where they will begin building.

This is not good.

The Washington Examiner is reporting:

“Armed Mexican troops disarmed two United States soldiers while they were on the American side of the border, U.S. defense officials have said.

U.S. Northern Command said in a statement that “five to six Mexican military personnel questioned two U.S. Army soldiers who were conducting border support operations” this month. The U.S. soldiers were in an unmarked Customs and Border Protection [CBP] vehicle near the southwest border near Clint, Texas.

Officials confirmed that the Mexican troops were armed with what seemed to be rifles. They raised their weapons when they saw the two U.S. soldiers, and then took a pistol from one and put it in the CBP vehicle. According to officials talking to CNN, the two Americans obliged “in an attempt to de-escalate a potential volatile situation.”

“Throughout the incident, the U.S. soldiers followed all established procedures and protocols,” the statement said. The two U.S. troops were on the south side of the security perimeter but north of the Rio Grande and thus were in the U.S., according side American territory, it added.

Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security officials demanded an explanation from the Mexican government. “An inquiry by CBP and DOD [Department of Defense] revealed that the Mexican military members believed that the US Army soldiers were south of the border,” the statement said.

“Though they were south of the border fence, U.S. soldiers remained in U.S. territory, north of the actual border.””

NM Governor Tells Militia To Stop Arresting Illegals, Sheriff Clarke Responds

A militia in New Mexico is arresting illegal immigrants as they cross the border. The Democrat governor of that state told them to stop. We Build the Wall advisory board member Sheriff David Clarke commented on the story.

NBC News reported:

“New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday lashed out at members of a militia group who are stopping migrants at the border, declaring “regular citizens have no authority to arrest or detain anyone.”

The American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico has demanded that Lujan Grisham and New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas investigate the militia organization, United Constitutional Patriots. Some of the group’s members are armed.

“That migrant families might be menaced or threatened in any way, shape or form when they arrive at our border — often times after an unimaginably arduous journey — is completely unacceptable,” Lujan Grisham said in an email to NBC News.

“It should go without saying that regular citizens have no authority to arrest or detain anyone,” she said. “My office and our state police are coordinating with the Attorney General’s Office and local police to determine what has gone on and what can be done.”

Sheriff Clarke Tweeted:

“This is the result when the government abandons its responsibility to enforce the law on behalf of the people of the state. They take their RIGHT to defend against invaders into their own hands. The social order collapses. NO ONE should be surprised.”

Balderas warned in a statement that “these individuals should not attempt to exercise authority reserved for law enforcement,” he said.

The ACLU of New Mexico raised the alarm about the arrests in a letter sent Thursday to Lujan Grisham and Balderas.

The letter said that on Tuesday members of the group arrested nearly 300 people near Sunland Park, New Mexico. The ACLU posted excerpts of the letter on its website with video that appeared to have been made by one of the militia members.

“The Trump administration’s vile racism has emboldened white nationals and fascists to flagrantly violate the law,” the ACLU said. “This has no place in our state: We cannot allow racist and armed vigilantes to kidnap and detain people seeking asylum. We urge you to immediately investigate this atrocious and unlawful conduct.”

According to Reuters, the group, made up mainly of veterans, has been patrolling in the area near Sunland Park since late February. They’ve been posting videos almost daily of members in camouflage and armed with semi-automatic rifles holding asylum-seekers who have crossed the border until Border Patrol arrives to arrest them.

Kevin McAleenan, acting Homeland Security secretary, said in a March 27 visit to El Paso, Texas, that Border Patrol did not help from “civil society groups” in policing the border, Reuters reported.”
